![]() ![]() Now - what I will do is try your "Stream Processing" advice and hopefully solve my issue once and for all. But the problem I had with DVDFab was that in the case of larger files, DVDFab would generate more than one *.vob file, which is of course undesirable during playback.Īgain, manono I am truly sorry if I sounded annoying - I did not mean to come off that way. There, I could simply uncheck the audio tracks I didn't want, which solved the problem I initally had with DVDDecrypter. I had previously downloaded and attempted to use DVDDecrypter, which seemed to work, except that I was hearing every audio track except the one I wanted - and I was unsure about how to change that problem.įrom there, I tried DVDFab Platinum. I want to rip single episodes from the TV show DVDs I own to my external hard drive (Western Digital "My Book Essential" 250 GB HD via USB 2.0 interface) so that I can watch specific episodes when and how I want. DivX Player Version 6.4.3 (downloaded the latest update on June 3rd, 2007 as well) Both primary & secondary IDE Channel properties are set to 'DMA if available' Matshita UJDA765a DVD/CDRW (plays & burns CDs, plays DVDs) Intel 1.73 GHz processor with 1 GB of RAM HP Compaq nc6220 laptop (running Windows XP Professional - service pack 2 installed) Let me be perfectly clear about what I have - and what I want. As far as my other topic, I originally was gearing that specifically toward DVDFab Platinum, but I see your point. I wasn't feeling well yesterday, and I was becoming frustrated. Have you stopped to consider that the main problem preventing you from doing what you want just may be yourself? I'm referring mostly to your other thread (why a new one on the same topic?):įirst, I want to apologize if you found my attitude annoying. Anyway, before decrypting, hit the "Stream Processing" Tab, check the "Enable Stream Processing" box, and uncheck anything you don't want.įrankly, I find your whole attitude very annoying. ![]() And if you used the right players, you could still choose the audio track you want. You're not playing the DVD, but just VOB files. So you've figured out how to decrypt using DVDDecrypter? And you can get files larger than a GB in just one VOB? Making progress, eh? But now you're peeved that you hear audio tracks you don't want? If you knew anything about how VOB files worked, then you would realize that any of the audio tracks on there (English, Director's Commentary, other languages) might show up. It is immensely annoying to have to change discs, wait for the new disc to load, then navigate though menus and intros to get to the episode I want.Īnd if you didn't change the ground rules with every post of yours, this might be a bit easier. I want one program that will rip one TV episode at a time - where my result is one *.vob file for each episodeĪm I dreaming, or does that not exist? How could that be so difficult? I just want to watch the episodes I want, how I want. That of course means if the show is 30 minutes or more, then my result is more than one *.vob file, which leads to an annoying, jerky pause during playback. I have tried DVDFab Platinum as well as DVDShrink (and besides the fact that DVDFab Platinum crashes every time I switch from one disc to the next), and it seems that the maximum *.vob file size is 1 GB. ![]() ![]() That's like putting the cart before the horse to me. I have seen people here recommend ripping the 'main movie' portion of the DVD and then using another program to edit it down. Is there just not an easy way to rip one episode at a time from a TV Show DVD? I have tried DVDDecrypter, and the audio tracks are never the one I need - English (I get French, English with subtitles, arrrgghh!! ) It seems to me that this would be a fairly easy concept to grasp, however, I cannot get ANY software to actually do what I want. ![]()
